Our Journey
It has been quite a journey.
We first opened our small café in High Wycombe in January 2019, starting with just a handful of WWII photographs and donated artefacts from local residents- many of whom have since become valued friends. We were honoured that Jonnie Pearce, a WWII veteran, officially opened the café for us, not once but twice, following our move to new premises. Along the way, we even reached the music charts with our number 98 single, “Christmas Baby Please Come Home.”
From the very beginning, our aim has been to honour and educate, while creating a welcoming and engaging environment.
We take pride in offering a unique experience, where guests can enjoy quality food and drink in settings that bring history to life- whether that’s a toasted teacake in Maude the car, a cream tea in one of our train carriages, or breakfast in an Anderson shelter.
We are delighted to be relocating to Chesham and look forward to beginning this next chapter. We are excited to see what the future holds.
While this new chapter brings great anticipation, it is also marked with some sadness that Jonnie will not be there to cut the ribbon. However, we take comfort in knowing his spirit and support remain with us.
Thank you for your continued support- it truly means a great deal to us.
